Tom is a veteran of over 30 years in the cleaning, maintenance, and restoration business. He has extensive experience covering drycleaning, carpet & upholstery cleaning, water and fire damage restoration, textile cleaning equipment and supplies research and development, and technical training.
Graduated
from the University of California @ Davis with a degree in Psychology,
Tom is an IICRC Certified Master Cleaner and an IICRC-Approved instructor.
He instructs classes leading to certification in Carpet Cleaning, Commercial
Carpet Maintenance, Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning, Odor Control, and
Water Damage Restoration.Tom serves on the technical advisory committee for the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR International). He serves as one of the developers and instructors for the prestigious Certified Rug Specialist Program sponsored by the National Institute of Rug Cleaning division of ASCR International.
Within Tom's credits are over 100 published technical articles in 5 countries, and the teaching of textile cleaning classes in 7 countries.
Tom is a past president and board member of the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). He also served on the task force that developed the IICRC S001 Carpet Cleaning Standard. Currently Tom serves as IICRC executive administrator.
As the head of the Vancouver, Washington-based consulting firm of T.Hill & Associates, Tom's clients include carpet manufacturers, fiber producers, cleaning equipment manufacturers, trade associations, and professional cleaning and restoration companies.
